I'm trying to work out how to plant the herbs in my herb garden. I want to put the catnip somewhere well away from the cat, I'm sure she can smell it!

(I have made the colours a horid colour so the pencil lines will show up)

Cats will ALWAYS smell the catnip, and eat it right down to the roots, then they'll probably roll around in the herb garden destroying everything else.
One tip I heard to protect the catnip is to put a laundry basket over it, (not very pretty) or make a smaller laundry basket type thing out of chicken whire, so the plant can grow through it, the cat can still eat the edges, but the main part of the plant is safe.
This doesn't still wouldn't solve the problem of the cat rolling all over the other herbs whilst on its catnip high.

Oh I see this will be another fab garden picture with box wood, cats, herbs, watering cans, baskets and just everything I love! I'm looking forward to see how it evolves! My cat Sammy loves to smell and chew on my cat nip too, but she has never destroyed it!
