I have not had a chance to do anything further to my new painting all week its been very frustrating. I was determined to sort it out today and not let anything get in the way. It is all drawn out on some nice smooth hot press watercolour paper. Its not dark like in the scan I had to make it darker other wise you would not see it. I add the patterns at this stage otherwise I think it would take me forever to do it twice. Some bits will still change but I can make these decisions in the first washes.

Dylans Outing

I felt so sorry for dylan looking out through the railings of the patio to the green grass, daffodil's and very beautiful looking lady bunnies. So I took him to taste freedom. He really enjoyed himself eating grass like no tomorrow.
I wish if I let him go he would come back. but he will get more trips out on his lead.

Here is a very bad photo of the rough for my new picture, I should of scanned it. I had meant to get it painted on Sunday but I only have it all drawn on watercolour paper. I was out at a sailing club while K was sailing and just thought I needed more reference to do it justice. I often like painting while K is sailing its nice and social to be just a little distracted and talk to people, although you do get a few odd comments. Instead of painting then I got to read a the variety of Sunday papers they had and watched them have a very cold windy sail.

Old Chair

I have gone to get the old chair I saw that would be so perfect in my new painting. I don't normally go this far to get referance but this chair was such a sweet shape. I have no idea where to put it as we are so very full of boxes full of cards..

Dylans enjoying trying it out for size put I think he prefers flower pots.

I have suddenly been struck with some new ideas for paintings. Its been rolling over in the back of my mind. I have no idea what the jack russel and labrador will be up to in a painting yet. But I have been thinking of some birds in the garden having a tea party, drinking sugary tea and lots of chocolate cake. I have also been picturing a cat curled up up in a chair reading a to her favorite toys. I have found the chair in a junk shop and think I will rescue it tomorrow if its still there!

Here are some very naughty rabbits. They caught my attention with their cheeky grin while out selling cards last year. I had driven quite along way I had sold some cards but it hardly covered my petrol. (The shop since has been a very good customer) I had never been to this town before so thought I would have a little wonder. Then I saw them, I'm normally very good and don't buy much when I'm around shops with my sales agent hat on. These rabbit have been an exception so I spent what little profit I made on them. Since then they have been doing the washing up and make me smile when ever I look at them.

I have been out traveling around today to restock a few shops with my greeting cards. I got a little lost and ended driving through some really pretty villages. One of the shops, Lavenders is a really pretty shop jammed packed with wonderful things. .

The scottie dog cards have been going down really well. Jack russels and Labrador have been asked for and of course more cats.

I found a great materiel shop that sold of little bits for ten pence each. So I have a great collection of linens and silks, to make something with when I have time. I'm going to be busy packing up cards now for my orders.

Snow, Sun and a fox

We have had a lovely weekend in the snow up in the lake district. Its was surprisingly sunny. I looked a little red from it yesterday. I had not been in so much snow for years and seemed to spend alot of time falling over.

I made the cake reciepe on Friday posted by Gretal on her It was really tasty and kept our energy levels up.

This lovely looking Mr foxy was proped up on a wall. Maybe to warn off others I don't think I would want that on Dylans house though.

I have not been doing much painting as I am redoing my catalogue. Since putting the new note cards in the old one we thought it looked a little untidy.

Dylan the flower pot bunny has exhuasting himself after digging in his favourate pot. The pot also gives him a great view for eyeing up all the lady bunnies running around in the woods. Maybe its a plan to dig out and get to them.

I'm changing my provider for hosting my domain name so there will be a little disruption with my email and website for the next 24-48 hrs. The new company has been really helpful, as it actually has a human that replies to your emails.

Little Treasures,

I found some pretty little buttons to top up my button tin, in the charity shop. I also ended up up buying some lovely handsown hankies as I felt I should by something after the lady was not going to charge me. Over the week end I had some fun with mod rock. I had never used it before as I always seemed to miss out at school for some reason. I think my subject found it a relatively painless experiance. This is the beginning of a venetion mask I have been promising to make for ages. I will have to get thinking how it can be decorated.
I have a new black and white bird to add to the bird collection, I think it looks like a jail bird though! I had some lovely new beads delivered and could not resist making them into necklaces straight away. I love just seeing the beads, like little sweeties.

Birds and Butterflies

I had a little bit of a bird thing over the weekend.

Then a butterfly. I thought I would use them to have an experiment and do something a little different.

So then I painted them.

These are two love birds. Lastly when making some more flower brooches I made two little birds. I will be painting the other birds soon.

The big bad wolf

He came on friday night to visit dylan. Poor dylan must of been so scared. I thought something was up when the water in the water bottle was out and had gone into the food bowl and made it all soggy. Unfortunatly I only relized what had happened when my nieghbour brought back the hoover she had borrowed. She said the fox had got all but one of her chickens. Poor chickens. On further looking at Dylans hutch you can see where the fox tried to break in. I have now made a barrowcade just in case but he must be one humgry fox.

I'm not scared say's Dylan I'm growing into a big strong rabbit!

It took me ages to workout that I like pattern and little things in my paintings. When last year I was going through some old books I came accross this little doodle I gave my aunt, I imagine I was around ten but I'm not sure.

Much to my surprise it shows how I liked detail and pattern even then. Its strange how sometimes you need to discover what was there all along.
